It's just a bunch of improvised stuff. Just take the same approach and you'll be fine. Are you looking at playing it exactly the same as the original recording?

At a certain point, it turns into a repeated pattern. Bissonette played it note for note when I had a lesson with him. I just wondered if anyone here had transcribed it.

Hey Bro. Give me a little time, and I will take a stab at transcribing it. I will post it when I am done. I have to memorize like 40 tunes for an audition/gig this friday first though! in the meantime, practice your "heirtas'! (rlr l) By the way you can find a transcription of the part after the kicks come in in a recent issue of Drum! magazine. (Brad was that you?) Anyway, you can find some cool software like the Amazing Slow Downer that can slow stuff down without changing the pitch for pretty cheap. Good luck and stay tuned!

I have about 5 or 6 Modern Drummer magazines lying in storage and after years of having only those few mags to read, I've just about memorized what's in them, including this snippet from Greg B.

Incidentally in that same issue is a back page tribute to Carlos Vega. The issue was from '98.

Thanks, Daniel! I also found that after looking through my Modern Drummer electronic archive. But, this is what he played in the middle of Frankenstein off of his first disc, so it's not exactly the same as what AVH played. I located the article in Drum! magazine where they transcribed it with 2 bass drum parts overdubbed, but I was looking for something that's all in one (plus I don't think it's too close to the original-guitar tabs in guitar magazines do the same thing, make the parts easier than originally written). I'll have to look at the music from the Drum! article again while following along with the music.

    Thanks for your help, gang!

They did a transcription and a "play a long" in RHYTHM magazine... about 4 months ago. I'll see if I can dig up the issue...

I didn't do that one. Wally Schnalle did that transcription for Drum!
